Soil

Thyme prefers well-drained, sandy, or rocky soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH (6.0–8.0). It thrives in nutrient-poor conditions and does not require rich soil.

Light

Provide thyme with full sun exposure, ensuring at least 6–8 hours of sunlight daily for optimal growth and flavor.

Watering

This herb is drought-tolerant and prefers infrequent watering. Let the soil dry out between waterings to prevent root rot.

Care

Regular pruning encourages bushy growth and prevents the plant from becoming woody. Easily propagated from cuttings, seeds, or division. Mulch lightly in colder climates to protect roots from frost.
