Replanting
A short beginner's guide
Step 1: Choose the Right Pot
Select a pot that's slightly larger than the root ball of your young plant. Make sure it has drainage holes at the bottom to allow excess water to escape, preventing root rot.
Step 3: Gently Remove the Plant from Its Nursery Pot
Carefully remove the young plant from its current container, being gentle with the roots. If the roots are tightly packed, gently loosen them with your fingers. Place the plant in the new pot, ensuring the top of the root ball is slightly below the lip of the pot.
Step 2: Prepare the Potting Mix
Use a good-quality potting mix that suits your plant's needs (e.g., cactus mix, tropical mix). Fill the bottom of the pot with a layer of soil to create a base for the plant's roots.
Step 4: Fill and Water
Fill around the plant with potting mix, pressing lightly to remove air pockets. Water the plant thoroughly after potting to help settle the soil and establish the roots in their new home. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.
