Plant care

Soil

Anthuriums thrive in a loose, well-draining soil mix. A blend of orchid bark, peat moss, and perlite works well to replicate their natural epiphytic growing conditions and prevent waterlogging.

Watering

Water anthuriums when the top inch of soil feels dry. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent root rot. These plants prefer consistent moisture but dislike being waterlogged.

Light

Bright, indirect light is ideal for anthuriums. Too much direct sunlight can scorch their leaves, while low light can result in fewer blooms. A spot near a filtered window is perfect.

Care

Keep anthuriums in a warm, humid environment, ideally between 18–27°C (65–80°F). Use a balanced liquid fertilizer every 6–8 weeks during the growing season to encourage blooms. Wipe the leaves occasionally to keep them dust-free and healthy

Did you know?

It can rebloom through the entire year and it's not bound to a specific bloom season. But Anthurium flowers aren't technically flowers. The colorful spathe is a modified leaf, while the spadix holds the tiny true flowers. These plants are also natural air purifiers, improving indoor air quality by removing toxins.
